You don’t have to know “what’s wrong” to come to see us

The world around you doesn’t have to be crumbling. You’re allowed to be confused and uncertain. It is okay to seek reassurance and support. At our West Chester, PA area therapy practice, we believe in “tune-ups” for young adults and college students. That means that you’re running just fine on your own, but the ride could be a little smoother with a couple of changes. Therapy for young adults can do that. We can help you adjust to this new life and accept all that you are. Our young adult therapists are here to help you move past anything making you feel stuck or confused.

Together we can assess what is bothering you and work through it.

Going to Therapy is Okay

You’re in a major transitionary period of your life. New responsibilities, new jobs, and new relationships flood your world. Adjusting to all of these changes can be extremely stressful and leave you with little time to process what you are going through. Even if things seem to be going great on paper, we both know that sometimes things just don’t feel as good on the inside. With life moving so fast around you, it is okay to feel overwhelmed and stressed. It is normal to feel a mountain of emotions through this transition. You want to do it all on your own, but you don’t even know what you don’t know right now. You could ask for help, but you are supposed to be independent. It is frustrating and can feel defeating.

Don’t worry, we are here for you and ready to help you gain that confidence to “adult” like a pro. However, you should know that adulting is hard for everyone and there is no right answer to life. We all just do the best that we can!

Young Adults and College Students: A Unique Phase of Life

Don’t get me wrong- this is one of the most exciting times of your life. You have more freedom than you ever did before. Chances are, you’re getting a fresh start and maybe even the chance to reinvent yourself and become whoever you want to be. Self-expression is at the forefront of your goals and you are most likely just excited to be able to explore the world without anything holding you back. It is a unique stage of life and one you’ll never get to experience again.

Being out on your own allows for so much freedom and self-expression. This can get overwhelming when you are still trying to figure out who you are and what exactly you want to do in life. Remember, you don’t have to go through it alone. And, again- the world doesn’t need to be crumbling at your feet for you to ask for help. Everyone is allowed to go to therapy,. You might even be surprised at how many of your young adult friends have been before or are going now.

At our Kennett Square, PA-based therapy practice, we are here to help you work through whatever is on your mind. Here, we believe that people sometimes just need a “tune-up”. In other words, sometimes people just need to find a deeper understanding of themselves and work through a few things to start living a more productive and satisfying life.
